The city is focused on the new developments forgetting about Ward 1. For example--street lighting. Compared to other areas in town, Ward 1 streets are way too dark. One of my goals is to get the darkness out by adding more street lights and ensuring Oncor keeps them in good working order. Then, when Ward 1 residents want to walk at night, safety shouldn't be a factor.

Vote for a Better Elgin
Better growth management is key to a city's success. We need long-range strategic master planning to accommodate traffic, water supply, wastewater capacity, floodwater mitigation, and parkland improvements/expansion. Strong partnerships with county, state, and business leadership are critical.
Better listening to Elginite concerns. After witnessing citizens being treated as a part of a business plan and not as people, it is time to recognize that the people of Elgin are our greatest asset. Elginites bring the community together for the better. All citizens need to be heard and treated with respect. Let's put the heart back in Elgin government.
Better budgeting when leadership is considering the use of taxpayers' hard-earned money. Every decision city leadership makes impacts the pocketbooks of ALL Elginites.
Better mobility, including improvements to roads and sidewalks throughout the entire city. Better support for our local businesses and collaborate with our business community to create a more liveable, playable, and workable Elgin. Something interesting about your business here.
